The excitement began several months before the travel date. International travel requires a lot of preparation with a checklist of tasks, from getting a visa to booking a budget friendly hotel. Below are some tips for first-time travellers:

  • Visa: Dubai offers different types of visas, it can be for tourism, business or transit. You can choose according to the purpose of your travel. In my case, I chose the 30-day tourist visa, which cost me Rs. 6,300 per person.
  • Flights: Booking flights well in advance can save you money. Compare prices from different airlines and choose the option that best suits your budget and schedule. I have booked Indigo for Delhi to Dubai and Air India for Dubai to Delhi, it costs me Rs.Rs.25850 per person (Round trip).
  • Accommodation: Dubai offers all type of accommodation options, from luxurious hotels to budget-friendly hostels. Consider your preferences and book accordingly. For my stay in this dazzling city, I opted for Hotel Rolla Residence, a comfortable and affordable choice that perfectly aligned with my travel budget. They offered me accommodation for 4 nights and 5 days complete with a morning breakfast included in the package. The cost per night at Hotel Rolla Residence was Rs. 7,800, providing both comfort and value for money.

  • International travel card/Forex card : To get the best exchange rates and seamless transactions during my Dubai trip, I opted for the Niyo card, an international travel card. This versatile card allowed me to conduct various transactions, including cash withdrawals, without the need to carry significant amounts of physical currency. It was my go-to financial companion throughout my international journey, offering both convenience and cost savings.

Immigration : Delhi to Dubai

After reaching Delhi Airport, I went for the security check and immigration. The process was surprisingly smooth, with friendly officers who have asked simple questions and checked the passport. As I have already researched on the immigration process, I had all the necessary documents in order, which helped to ease the process.

Culinary Landscape:

In Delhi airport restaurants are there in the food court of the airport. Multi cuisine type of restaurants are available in the food court. My family opted for Aloo Paratha at a restaurant. And I have opted for KFC food.

As an international traveler, the first step after disembarking is usually clearing immigration. Dubai Airport’s immigration process was efficient and hassle-free. The officers were courteous, and having all the necessary documentation in order, including my visa, ensured a smooth entry into the United Arab Emirates.

Transportation Options: Getting from the Airport to Hotel Rolla

Dubai Airport offers several transportation options to reach your destination within the city. I have opted for a Taxi. Dubai’s airport taxis are readily available and are a convenient way to reach your hotel. The city’s iconic cream-coloured taxis are known for their professionalism and reliability. I hopped into a taxi, which was a comfortable and straightforward choice. And the best part is that taxis accept your International travel card for the payment.

Dining at a South Indian Restaurant in Bur Dubai

After a day filled with excitement and exploration in Dubai, the evening presented an opportunity for a culinary adventure. My choice for dinner was a quaint South Indian restaurant nestled near to my hotel. I had a delightful experience of dining at this small yet charming eatery.

The restaurant exuded an authentic South Indian ambiance that immediately transported me to the southern regions of India. From crispy dosas and flavorful curries to fragrant rice dishes, the options were tantalizing.

For my dinner, I decided to indulge in a Crispy veg, Squid fry, Kerala Chicken roast, Kerala Parota, Veg korma, Palak Paneer, and Rice. Each bite was a burst of flavours, and the combination of textures and spices was a delightful culinary experience.
